L0020 Mayan Economic LessonStudents, we have recently uncovered data from six Mayan cities. We have recovered three different years of data. Each year has data for the yearly sacrifices, corn production, and trades of these different Mayan Cities. From our sources, we have heard rumors that the value of each item fluctuates within a range. The fluctuation seems to be in some type of relationship between the sacrifice and what happened with the corn production in that particular year. In addition, our sources tell us that there are three basic categories of items which have about the same value in the trading system. The problem is the data uses the Ancient Mayan symbols to give us the information. You must: 1) translate the data, 2) analyze the trades to determine the three general categories of worth from the most valuable to the least valuable category, 3) determine what valuables were produced by each city, 4) develop a theory as to the fluctuation of the items in relationship to the sacrifice and corn production for the year. Give examples, using data provided to prove your theory. Researching Mayan cultures would be helpful for your task. Also, a hint, use the supply demand theory of economics as a basis for your analysis. Click on the following to begin your Analysis:
