| When "Little Miss Mischief" belly landed at her home base in April 1945 after mission over Germany, she jammed her chin turrets, ripped her aluminum skip and wrapped her props - the latter was caused by coming in with "power on." Jacked up by inflating great rubber bladders inserted under the wing panels, the aircraft has been first down on a pair of caterpillar treads - pieces of reverse land lease - all usable equipment is being salvaged including the bullet proof windshields in pilots cockpit. |
