
| Crossing a bamboo pontoon bridge across the swift Shweli River, the 3rd Battalion of the 475th Infantry moves toward Mong-Wi, China, its next march objective. The bridge, built by the Chinese, was not strong enough to sustain the load carried by the US Infantry and crossing was delayed many hours while repairs were made. January 1945 |
