| These men are members of the 1058th Port Connector Company engaged in repairing a railroad bridge destroyed by the FIFE to prevent Germans from retreating. The locomotive, as well as another, was steamed up by the local FFI and sent careening down the track to fall into the river. This prevented the Germans from obtaining more rolling stock. The bridge is located near Aschen, Germany. Pictured are two assistants to the diver. |
