The Franklin is entering New York Harbor on way to Brooklyn Navy Yard for repairs after receiving a Jap bomb hit at Inland Sea, Japan on March 19, 1945. The USS Franklin - gallant Essex-class carrier, badly damaged by a Jap bomb in the Japanese Inland Sea, March 19, 1945, returns to the Brooklyn Navy Yard under her own power. Officers and men line up for inspection as the ship enters New York Harbor.
