
THE INVADERS HIT THE BEACH - From Coast Guard-manned "sea-horse" landing craft, American troops leap forward to storm a North African beach during final amphibious maneuvers. Lying off shore, extreme right, a Coast Guard-manned assault transport is visible. Coast Guard invasion craft, like these, were in the initial waves which rolled in upon Normandy's beaches before dawn D-Day.
