GUN SIGHT AIDS THE SCOPE SIGHT - The first reading of the balloon's ascension must be made 15 seconds after its release. This sometimes doesn't giv the Cpl. enough time to focus the balloon on the crossed hairlines inside his theodolite, so the other Private lines up the balloon through a gunsight on top of the theodolite. January 4, 1945
