Under the protecting wing of this Navy B-24, the first to land on Emirau Island, are the crew members, awaiting the completeion of minor repairs. Framed between the huge motors is the control tower of the air strip which lies just 76 miles from the Jap stronghold at Kavieng. Emirau - May 27, 1944
