Shown here is one of the Douglas DC-3 transport planes which dropped food and ammunition by parachute to American Infantry fighting on New Georgia Island. These SCAT (South Pacific Combat Air Transport) planes are piloted by US Marines Aviators. Guadalcanal - July 19, 1943
