Platform, firing for the 155mm gun (the purpose is to obtain 180 degree traverse). Note the weapon is now obsolete and superceded by 155mm gun. A firing platform 155mm MI is not standard equipment with the latter weapon and allows for 360 degrees traverse. Russell Islands - July 1943
