Security signals are flashed to the mail defense force at prescribed intervals by radioman. Called "Blinker" by his buddies, he devotes his entire duty on the Island to communication work. A veteran of outpost duty, he laughs about the time when at another Island outpost, where main vegetation was cocoanut trees, he opend a box of supplies and found a dozen cans of cocoanut!
