"Marines go Falekek" - American sewarage systems were unknown locally when Marines arrived at this South Pacific base, so Leathernecks got into the habit of "going to falekeke" native fashion. Falekekes are built out over the water's edge along the beach so that the waves can wash underneath. March 14, 1943 - Samoa
