TINIAN TARGET - AN AIRFIELD - Marines coming ashore on Tinian (lower left corner) in tanks, head for the new Jap airfield at Ushi Point. A road across the beach was scooped out and leveled off by a bulldozer to give the tanks a running start. The odd circles near the field are parking areas and dispersal spaces. July 24, 1944
